I also worked on ripping some stock for cleats and other bits useful during the build.
Somewhere previously I had read somewhere that you should rip strips using a bandsaw. I don’t remember why but inevitably the reason has to do with the thin kerf of the blade - less waste of that expensive lumber. So I tried it.
Don’t do this. The blade is so flexible that it’s hard to get a long straight cut since the blade easily wanders. I don’t want to cut with a bandsaw only to have to run it through a planar to get it flat.
Switch to the table saw.
And for whatever reason I decided to rip to the metric dimensions in the plans as opposed to the imperial dimensions in the build manual.
At this point there was a bit of a pause to the build…
