With the cleats in place for the Lazarette I could work on more getting more of the motor mount done. I had already glued in a doubler underneath the starboard side seat back here, I needed to expand the area covered by backing plates though. The back cleat for the lazarette, being built out of 2x4, was thick enough that a lag screw could be sunk into that for a motor mount if need be, but not below that cleat in the lazarette locker itself on the transom down to the sole.
So backer pieces were glued in there.
The other progress made was to start painting the under seat storage areas in prep for closing them in by gluing the seat tops down.
For the seat sections I primed them using prekote epoxy primer - this is a two part primer that dries rock hard and stinks
I only did one coat of primer before applying two coats of BilgeKote (in “battleship grey” as one person put it).
